LETTERS: Pursuit of life, happiness going well under Trump

Declaring our independence from Great Britain on July 4 of 1776, our country’s founders stated: “all people are created equal” and “they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” They fought a war to gain that independence and then developed a constitution to define a republic insuring equality and those rights for “we the people.”

When we saw what was happening to our country, we voted for the one person who sincerely indicated that as president he would work to ensure equal treatment under the law for all and would do all he could to provide an environment where we had the protection and liberty to pursue life and happiness.

We were not disappointed. President Donald Trump has worked diligently to fulfill all his promises.

Working with Congress, he got tax law revisions to lower the tax rate for all personal income tax brackets.

The corporate tax rate lowered from one of the highest in the world to where we are now competitive with other nations.

To further help create jobs and enhance liberty, his administration has cut burdensome and unnecessary regulations.

The results have been phenomenal.

The latest overall unemployment rate data shows the lowest level in 44 years.

For Hispanics, it has reached the lowest level ever.

For African American it is at the lowest level at least as far back as 1972.

For women it is at the lowest level in 18 years.

God bless our founders and President Trump.
