As a 16-year-old high school student at Port Angeles High School, I am excited about the roller rink being planned for downtown this summer.
But I believe volunteers should not man it. They should be paid employees.
Not only would this be an excellent opportunity for students to get summer jobs, but it would also benefit the community as a whole.
If we continue with the idea of volunteers running the rink, the local businesses may suffer.
It is unfair that the roller rink gets to make a profit without paid employees when every other local business is required to.
