If Port Angeles Mayor Sissi Bruch is so offended by the soldiers holding muskets on the gate of the Veterans Memorial Park (PDN, Nov. 3), I would ask her and any other Port Angeles City Council members who would vote for the removal to do the following:
Write letters on city stationary to U.S. Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell and U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer asking them to introduce bills to have the soldiers guarding the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” in Washington, D.C., disarmed.
Because if she is offended by the soldier sculptures holding muskets she must be absolutely terrified that those soldiers are carrying real rifles.
