LETTER: Where were the flags for Veterans Day in Port Angeles?

Friday morning 10 a.m. my husband and I took our coffee and drove downtown Port Angeles.

We wanted to see all the flags for Veterans’s Day.

We went west through town.

No flags!

We went east through town.

No flags!

Except Peninsula Daily News and Port Angeles Variety Store.

Port Angeles was voted No. 2 Best Small Town in the U.S.?

We do not celebrate Veterans Day?

How sad!

My father’s ship was bombed at Pearl Harbor.

He served 25 years in the U.S. Navy.

My brother lost his life in a U.S. Air Force plane crash.

Another brother served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Thailand/Vietnam.

I am embarrassed for this city!

Shame on you Port Angeles!

You have lost our support.

Sally Fried,

Port Angeles
