LETTER: When we protest against abortion, we’re doing it out of love — for everyone

Why do you suppose Christians get so wrapped up in the abortion issue?

I was even told by a protester who was supporting Planned Parenthood to go play with my God on Sunday and leave the protesting to others during the week.

Well, let me explain.

You see, we take the matter personally.

Remember that our God came into the world in the same way we all did: through a mother’s womb.

That makes the womb of a human woman sacred ground.

This is where our God “knit us” as he creates the next generation.

So, when we protest against abortion, we are really praying for everyone, including the abortionist, to seek another way to cope with an unwanted pregnancy.

Love is indeed the answer, loving everyone involved and being a loving friend in a time of need.

Jesus was conceived out of wedlock, which was reprehensible in his time.

Can you imagine a worse scenario than if his mother had weakened and somehow destroyed her unborn baby?

So, fellow protesters, move over and protest if you must, but remember the Christian next to you is praying for the innocent unborn baby and for the souls of anyone who chooses to mess up God’s work in creating the next generation.

You see, Christians believe we are all in this together, and the answer has always been love — responsible lovemaking to begin the creative process, and loving parenthood to finish the wonderful event called creation.

Think of it: We are co-creators, and doesn’t that deserve a loving effort?
