LETTER: Wear a mask

When I use my mask — I wear a bandana — it’s not just for self-protection, it’s about protecting others.

To be honest I’m a little lax.

If I’m in a shopping aisle that is empty, only me, I’ll drop it momentarily.

The fact is that, here in Clallam County the numbers of cases are relatively low, so far.

But it only takes one person to start a cascading transmission, so err on the side of caution.

Yeah, it’s a minor hassle, but is it so hard to do, wear a mask?

A mask is also a sign of solidarity, that we are all in this together.

This virus will end.

Perhaps if we would have been better prepared, like Taiwan, South Korea, Japan (who have universal health coverage) and jumped on this much sooner with a strong national response we could have nipped the COVID-19 in the bud.

But alas, such is not the case.

So one has to question, are we winning yet?
