LETTER: Waddell ‘outstanding’ candidate for Clallam PUD

Waddell outstanding

Jim Waddell is a candidate for PUD Commissioner of District 3, who has 35 years of experience as a civil engineer, policy and programs manager with the Army Corp of Engineers.

He served with the National Guard for six years.

Since his retirement in 2013, he has spent thousands of hours reviewing the Corps, Bonneville Power Administration and other government reports and data to better understand the cost and impact of federal dams.

Waddell is a fiscal conservative, who is committed to public accountability, operational transparency, and pressing for affordable power rates.

Alternative energy resources is integral to the strategy that he supports, which would secure reliable, affordable electrical power everyday for the residents of Clallam County and in the event of day-to-day outage or those of a catastrophic nature.

Given the opportunity to work with the other PUD commissioners, Waddell will seek to provide power and water from sources which are most economically and environmentally beneficial to the entire county.

Many of us who have had an opportunity to hear Waddell speak are convinced that Clallam County would be quite fortunate to have such an outstanding candidate as our next PUD commissioner.

Please vote for Jim Waddell; it may well be the most consequential choice you make this election season.

Therese Stokan,
