We have always felt very fortunate that our children were able to receive a quality education in the Port Angeles School District.
The academic programs were excellent and gave our kids the basics that all children need.
But in addition to the academic programs, in their high school years, they were able to participate in extracurricular programs such as sports, music, debate and theater.
These learning and growing experiences prepared them to compete and thrive at the next level of education and life.
The students in Port Angeles need all the tools and skills we can provide to help them to succeed.
This Feb. 14 levy provides them these opportunities.
We all want our kids to do more than just graduate.
We want them to be able to go out into the world on equal footing.
We want them to have a memorable and growing experience that allows them to mature into productive adults.
All of our students should have these opportunities.
The teachers, staff and school district work hard to provide all these things for the children and youths in our community.
We want to support them, but even more important, we want to support our children.
Please join us in supporting the future of education and our community by voting for the levy and the extension of the current funding levels.
Paul and Sheri Stutesman,
Port Angeles
