LETTER: Unfair to charge hybrid vehicle owners a charging fee

A few days ago I was taken aback by hearing that our state is preparing to affix a surcharge to our license tags if we own and operate an electric hybrid vehicle in the amount of $70 per year.

This would allow those who have to plug in their completely electric vehicles to have charging stations.

Even though our vehicle is not a plug-in and needs no recharging, we are to be billed, doubling our yearly fees.

Charge those that use it. Why are we that do not need nor use it expected to float their expenses?
