President Donald Trump’s policies have not only weakened the physical infrastructure of the United States but have also eroded our standing as a global leader in humanitarian efforts.
While his administration touts MAGA, the reality is a dismantling of the very foundations that make America strong — trust, compassion and shared responsibility.
Under the guise of stimulating growth, Trump is pushing through extending tax cuts that overwhelmingly have and will benefit the wealthiest individuals and corporations.
This move doesn’t trickle-down prosperity. Instead, it adds trillions to the national debt while leaving working families, seniors and the vulnerable scrambling as essential programs face cuts or elimination.
From housing assistance to healthcare to international aid, resources have been stripped away, not out of necessity but to appease donors and the ultra-rich.
Our global credibility will suffer too.
By withdrawing from international partnerships and slashing humanitarian aid, the U.S. has abandoned its leadership role, leaving allies uncertain and adversaries emboldened.
This isn’t fiscal conservatism — it’s deliberate neglect in favor of profit.
The solution is clear and fair: raise taxes on the super wealthy.
Just modest increases for the top 1 percent would generate significant revenue without placing more burden on working Americans.
Instead of sacrificing critical programs, we should ask those who’ve benefited most from our system to give back accordingly.
We don’t need to destroy in order to save.
We need policies that build — bridges, trust and a future worthy of our ideals.
