LETTER: Trump just a great salesman, not president

Is Trump as truly incompetent as the media portrays him, or is he smarter than they give credit for?

Those are two very different questions.

Trump is massively — and willfully — ignorant. He has the worst case of Dunning-Kruger (he’s too dumb to know what he doesn’t know) anyone has ever seen.

Overwhelmed by the world’s most overwhelming job, he has chosen non-stop lying over doing his homework.

He ignores most of the daily intelligence briefings or any briefing books, even though they’ve been dumbed down to his level.

Yet he comes out and claims to know more about the military, nuclear, cyber, health care, tech and pretty much anything else you can name than the actual experts.

He detected a raging river of racism and barely contained hatred in our country, and exploited it.

That’s kept him in office despite a non-stop torrent of scandals, any one of which would have brought down an ordinary president.

Despite all the talk, Trump really hasn’t done anything.

The economic numbers are good now, but he is employing the same financial tactics that led to the Great Depression (isolationism, tariffs, etc.).

He claimed to have ended the nuclear threat from North Korea, which proved to be a lie.

Then he claimed he’d ended all testing, which was just as good.

However testing continues, as recently as yesterday.

So far all he’s accomplished is three photo ops and the ridiculous notion he deserved a Nobel Prize for the first one.

I could go on (and on), but the point should be clear: Trump’s gift lies in salesmanship, not getting things done.
