LETTER: Trump isn’t acting on anyone’s behalf but his own

Someone commented in the March 26 Peninsula Daily News’ Speaking Out [“How do you think Donald Trump is doing so far as our president?”] about Trump’s campaign promise of donating his salary to charity.

There is no proof this is happening, just as there is no release of his tax records.

Maybe Trump should donate his salary to the Secret Service or local law enforcement in Palm Beach, Fla., to provide all that extra security he needs for his near-weekly mini-vacations, or for his kids’ vacations or for his wife and son remaining in New York.

Also, now that Trump and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan have failed to roll back what little progress was made in this country to provide health care through the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare — because we the people had a snowball’s chance in hell of getting a single-payer health care system through our corrupted Congress — we now have to wonder about Trump’s plans to undermine the ACA through lack of enforcement because of Trump’s history of seeking revenge.

You have to be living in la-la land if you believe Trump or the leadership in our GOP-controlled Congress represents the interests of the lower and middle classes in this country.

And Trump is not acting on anyone’s behalf but his own and those few people in his inner circle, which appears to include Vladimir Putin and friends.
