If the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe is bent on gifting Sequim with this medication-assisted treatment clinic and it is all a done deal as was said at the public meeting at Blake Park, then the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, and the hospital district, who are going to make the money off this clinic, should also gift Sequim with the annual salaries for at least 3 or 4 additional police officers who will be needed when there are 200-300 additional people wandering around Sequim because public transportation simply cannot bring them to town and then back to where they came from every day so they can get their treatment.
Anyone who thinks this clinic is not going to change Sequim has their eyes closed and are singing la-la-la very loudly.
Please realize that this clinic will change our town.
I believe that the cost for additional officers, who we will need, should be on those who are making the money bringing this clinic to town and not the taxpaying citizens, some of whom enjoy Sequim’s quaint small-town feel.
