LETTER: Supports Port Angeles School District levy

I have to concur with my classmate of the Class of ‘63 who wrote “Support PA levy.”

It is time to update the schools in the Port Angeles district.

Stevens Middle school is in need of upgrade first.

About the time that I was in school here in Port Angeles during the ‘50s and early ‘60s the community decided that a similar investment was due.

Now over 50 years later it is time for us to step up as our parents did and update the schools again.

The board has put forth a realistic plan for upgrading that will last another 50 years.

This is not a glitzy plan but a sound well thought-out plan that addresses the expected changes that will come with time.

My mother went to the Port Angeles schools in the ‘30s and early ‘40s. That is in the last century.

She was very proud as the first schools were replaced for my generation.

I will be proud that the schools that I grew up with will be replaced for the next generations.

The young folks of today are our future.

I want the realistically best for them.

This is a good plan.

Vote yes for our kids.
