The juvenile justice system of Clallam County — a model in the state of Washington — is very effective in providing prevention-intervention services as well as handling offenders.
Our community benefits economically when our young people are being helped to avoid entering the revolving door of incarceration, and we benefit socially by having safer neighborhoods and a greater sense of well-being.
Many young people experience disadvantage in their lives — poverty, domestic discord, influence of drugs, learning disabilities and other problems.
Very dedicated county personnel assist them to overcome difficulties and engage in positive actions.
By approving a small increase in sales tax — one-tenth of 1 percent — county residents will enable the continued funding of these valuable programs.
Please vote “yes” on Proposition 1.
