LETTER: Sex education program is well-respected

The FLASH [Family Life and Sexual Health] sexuality education curriculum is a long established well respected curriculum.

I was using early versions of the FLASH curriculum when I, as the director of Clallam-Jefferson Family Planning, was teaching sexuality education in Clallam county schools from 1977-1988.

Sexuality, sexual responsibility, sexual identity and personal values are not easy to talk about.

This curriculum is an excellent springboard for teachers, students, parents and youth leaders.

The current outcry against this program is 30 years late.
