LETTER: Schools not trails

I read about the schools in need of all the repairs in the Crescent School District and expense to the taxpayer for these repairs.

It looks like if we need these repairs so badly, we surely could have spent the dollars on the schools rather than throwing the dollars away on the Discovery trails west of Port Angeles.

There were trails there in the past 30 years and could have been hiked upon as was and didn’t need the fantasy wide-build up road base and black top to hike upon, costing thousands of dollars so a few could walk down and not get their shoes dirty.

The tax money isn’t being used properly that I can see.

Where are all the tax dollars really going?

Not to good use, for sure.

These should have been school dollars, not trail dollars spent here.

I have paid my taxes for over 50 years and they keep increasing each year.

I am also trying to live on a limited income.
