LETTER: Politicians trying to trick public again with tax proposal

Many politicians fib, and bribery and corruption have no party lines.

They have existed as long as politics.

The current levels fly in the face of the basic principles of our once-great nation.

The current tax plan as proposed is touted as helping middle class families, according to news reports.

The U.S. Census Bureau’s last published numbers define the median household income with two working American adults as $68,426.

According to the same source, the top 5 percent of the same family type earn at least $206,567.

It is difficult for me to believe that politicians can define a family making $250,000 a year as middle class.

The stock market and the corporations are stronger and richer than they have ever been, and hold vast cash reserves offshore, according to media reports.

Yet, our infrastructure is crumbling and our middle class is struggling alongside the poor to pay their bills.

Are the politicians repeatedly calling the apple a banana to trick us — yet again — to benefit the very rich?
