Wow, I was flabbergasted by Pat Buchanan’s commentary piece Tuesday, March 12 (“How to dispossess middle America,” PDN, March 12).
With Republicans losing the popular vote in six out of seven recent presidential elections, he suggests that it’s time to find a different way to choose our nation’s rulers, because this swing to the left could not possibly have anything to do with unpopular Republican policies, could it?
I fully expect that Pat’s next column will propose two classes of U.S. citizens, with only Pat’s favorites — including old white men like himself, of course, being allowed the privilege of voting.
Are you sure that Pat Buchanan and those like him would let you into their club?
