LETTER: Noise complaints only create more obstacles for training pilots

I hope U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer realizes how serious his decisions will be regarding the safety of the American public.

Naval aviators flying FA-18 Growlers are training to protect us.

As a professional pilot for more than 40 years, I know how important good training is.

Putting up more obstacles for the Growler air crews to deal with because of a few loud activists will degrade the training environment.

I have lived on the Olympic Peninsula for more than 25 years and never heard a complaint from a visitor about jet noise in the national parks.

Bill Shepherd,

Diamond Point
