LETTER: No point in having issues with LGBTQ people

In response to the July 9 letter writer’s misguided view of Pride Month, these yearly festivities in cities around the world are an opportunity for our LGBTQ friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members to reject the attempts of the writer and those who agree with him to marginalize people who are different from themselves.

Most of the civilized world has come to understand that there is no point in having issues with people for something they did not choose and cannot change.

LGBTQ people are going to continue to go to work, get married, raise families, contribute to society and celebrate Pride Month whether the writer likes it or not.

Continuing to have issues with them for doing these things is simply a recipe for being eternally frustrated.
