Voting for Doherty
I am a new resident of Clallam County and I am moving to Clallam Bay.
I have known Mike Doherty for two years while residing in nearby Jefferson County.
You might say, well, what can you say about someone you have only known for two years?
Listen, I judge people by their heart — what I feel while in their presence.
I am a woman who along with many many others has been a victim of sexual abuse.
When I am talking to him about the issues of Clallam County, my skin does not crawl.
He listens, a quality most of us are sorely lacking in.
I most recently spent time with him at Makah Days where he was listening to the original people of this peninsula.
He walks his talk.
The first time I met him was when we all stood on a street corner in Port Angeles, educating people about climate change.
He was not doing this for extra media attention; he was not running for office then.
He is now.
He will get my vote if I have moved by then. Please look closely at a man who listens and walks his talk.
