LETTER: National debt

Our current national debt is about $23.5 trillion.

One trillion dollars, in 100-dollar bills stacked 7-feet high is bigger than a football field.

Multiply that by 23.5 and the pile is a stack of 24 football fields that is about 168 feet tall.

Currently our federal government is about to raise our national debt approximately 2 trillion dollars. That will raise the pile two football fields or another 15 feet.

When the debt was about 10 trillion, I remember a panicked discussion, we could never pay it back.

Now we are so dumbed down, the fear for reprisal is gone.

Nothing has happened so far, why should something happen in the future?

This insanity will continue until we break it in half.

Are we prepared for what will happen?

I surmise our debt will reach $30 trillion.

Most of us will live to see this.

What will the damage to our economy be?

Will China continue to buy our debt?

This I do know, all politicians are liable for the outcome, no whining, can’t say it wasn’t me.

Where’s the concern for strapping the next generation with this burden?

The country is shutting down and the candy man will bequeath all of us with a Christmas present bought on a USA credit card.

Cash is government heroin.

Hard to say no to a fist full of dollars.

Good grief.
