The whaling proposal announced on the front page of the PDN is very sad. (“Hearing set on NOAA plan for Makah whale hunts,” PDN, April 5-6)
After watching a special on television regarding putting our whales on an endangered species list, it is much more than inappropriate to even consider the Makah forging ahead with their intended killings.
The whales are already having a difficult time dealing with tankers, ferries, etc.
Hopefully they will reconsider.
