LETTER: Letters to the editor highlight ideological divide

With your kind permission I wish to respond to two letters, both appearing on page 11 of the Peninsula Daily News, April 22.

In response to the letter, “Beyond decency:” I don’t believe that the PDN has a cadre of enforcers who go around tying people to chairs and forcing them to read editorial columns they are offended by or disagree with.

This letter writer wants the PDN to stop publishing a columnist because she happens to find the columnist’s writings offensive.

Has this letter writer ever read the First Amendment to our Constitution?

Response to the letter “Dangerous times:” The writer of this letter is just repeating CNN twaddle while completely ignoring the positive outcomes of our president’s America First policies.

I’m going to assume the writer is of the liberal persuasion (he certainly comes across as one).

The writer states that we Americans who possessed enough common sense to put our president into office do not support “morality and family values.”

This remark from someone of the ideology that places the willful murder of innocent unborn babies number one on its agenda — according to Thomas Perez the DNC Chair. (“Democratic Party draws a line in the sand on abortion rights,” Huffington Post, 4/21/17).
