LETTER: Let Mueller probe continue, empty-handed

I don’t know about you but, despite rumors of Russian interference in the recent presidential election, I conclude that the constant and continuing claims of corruption and collusion are of no consequence. There is just no “there” there.

However, undeterred by the lack of any concrete evidence thus far, Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team continue their seemingly unending search for signs that someone somewhere somehow snatched victory from Hillary and awarded the presidency to an undeserving Trump.

Like a dog surrounded by fire hydrants and determined to sniff all of them before finding just the right one, Team Mueller is apparently conducting an increasingly desperate search for that ever-elusive hydrant that smells of Trumpian misdeeds, as reported in the media.

Notwithstanding suspected but unproven criticisms that Mr. Mueller has hand-picked a crew of Democrat party donors, sympathizers, and fellow travelers who are naturally biased against Trump, I believe his investigation should continue without outside interference.

After all, if a team of purportedly prejudiced Democrats can’t find proof of Trump’s transgressions — and they haven’t thus far — he must really be innocent of all charges.

So, let them continue to smell around because, who knows, sooner or later they may just sniff out those hydrants that reek of Hillary.

Because there are a lot of them.
