The Port of Port Townsend has given notice that it intends to seek a property tax levy.
While I fully understand the Port’s need for the funds, I am not sure we can trust them to use approximately $15 million wisely.
And there are real needs.
Therefore, I support the currently circulating petition to put the property tax levy to a vote of the people.
Let’s make the port commissioners determine what the comprehensive plan is for these funds so we can determine if it meets the county’s needs.
