LETTER: How to be a winner

Event showcases why winners win.

On Oct. 18, more than 400 musicians and student-athletes from our North Olympic Peninsula high schools and middle schools, and from Peninsula College participated in a fun-filled, educational and motivational afternoon at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center with Trevor Moawad, a nationally renowned mental conditioning coach who has helped Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson and many other very successful people achieve at the highest levels.

Moawad’s concentration games kept the participants fully engaged, resulting in many laughter-filled moments that resonated throughout the auditorium.

Why do winners win?

They continually practice with great concentration.

They persist.

They persevere.

They communicate well and have great faith in their co-workers and teammates.

They reflect an attitude of gratitude.

Congratulations to our Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce and to our local sponsors for bringing this classy event to our kids and grandkids, and to their coaches and advisers.

John Halberg,

Port Angeles
