LETTER: Having trouble renewing driver’s license

From Clallam Bay

I’m not sure how other people have managed this, but I for one am having a nightmare of a time renewing my driver’s license.

The local Forks office has a recording that states it’s open Wednesday and Friday 10-4; it’s not.

It hasn’t been for a while and the message wasn’t changed.

I’ll have to schedule an appointment at the Port Angeles office to get my address line corrected on my renewed license.

I can’t complete it online because there’s a ‘w’ in front of Highway 112 on the address line which, according the local post office where I was able to communicate with a real person, in a mask, is my verifiable address.

I have been over the website repeatedly trying to get to the next page, pay the fee and print out a temporary license.

It’s like maybe we don’t do that anymore?

I mean really, this is getting out of hand.

I have to make an in-person appointment with the Port Angeles office and by the looks of the schedule that is going to be impossible.

They are booked through December.

Come on guys, coronavirus or no, I should be able to correct the address glitch and get my license renewed, or are things that messed up that the whole system has failed?

I would like to know how to crawl out of this wormhole that the Washington state Department of Licensing has created by this seemingly address error/failure.
