LETTER: Have you no sense of decency, Trump?

U.S. Sen. Joe McCarthy, infamous for his self-aggrandizement and his flagrant disregard for facts, was called up short by Attorney Joseph Welch during the Army-McCarthy hearings when Welch said to McCarthy: “You’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?”

And now we see President Trump, standing in front of the hallowed CIA Memorial Wall commemorating the 117 agents killed in the line of duty, whining about the press, about how the attendance numbers for his inauguration were misreported.

He claimed that the lying press was out to get him.

There may be a place for this kind of whining, but not in this place and not at this time.

I echo Welch: President Trump, you’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?

Time to man up and grow a pair, bub.

It is not the press’ job to praise you, to write only stories you approve of.

Time to get up every morning and focus upon our problems, our budget, our health, our security and not to begin your day with childish rants because people are “being mean” to you.

We deserve better than that.
