LETTER: Happy days are here again — for Senate Republicans

In contrast to Democrat midterm Senate losses under Barack Obama, Republicans expanded their Senate majority.

This bodes well for the confirmation of more solid conservative judges, like Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who will protect our property and gun rights.

I want to thank the Democrats who, by engaging in vicious personal attacks against those with whose policies they disagree, energized the Republican base and made many independents vote Republican.

I want to thank the Democrat senators who attempted to personally destroy without a shred of evidence a decent man and brilliant jurist, Brett Kavanaugh, and his family.

“Innocent until proven guilty” is a foundation of the American system.

The Democrat senators’ and left-leaning media’s rush to judgment based on uncorroborated accusations did not sit well with most Americans.

People asked themselves, do we really want those who practice vicious politics of personal destruction in charge of the Senate?

I want to thank Hillary Clinton for her statement that, while Democrats are not in power, they should not be civil to those they disagree with.

It reminded us how much better off we are with her not in the White House.

I want to thank Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters for her call to “push back” on Republicans by booing them out of restaurants and “taking up at their house saying ‘no peace, no sleep.’ ”

She showed us the mob rule we can expect with Democrats in charge.

If Democrats keep this up, things look bright for President Trump and Republicans in 2020.
