LETTER: Grateful for workers

We took time to go to Safeway and Rite-Aid this morning.

We limit our outings, try to buy what we need and utilize early hours when the stores aren’t so busy.

I was glad to see the handwipes available and that a Safeway employee was cleaning carts between uses.

If it is worrisome to me to be in crowds, how must it be for those workers who are making products available to us?

We automatically think of the first responders and the medical personnel who risk so much in this pandemic without even adequate protective gear.

But I also want to thank those who are working in groups of people all day as they do their jobs, which put them at some degree of risk.

I hope that you all stay safe and well.
