We’ve had 235 years of American presidents without a single woman in the Oval Office, 92 years of Congressmen representing Washington’s 6th Congressional District, and 24 years of an all-male Clallam County Board of Commissioners.
There’s nothing wrong with having good men in government.
It’s just hard to have a truly representative government when half the population doesn’t have a seat at the table.
This year, we can elect fresh voices to the White House, Congress and our county board by electing women to all three offices.
Whether it’s equal pay or equal access to healthcare, affordable housing or affordable childcare, women should have a voice in how our government uses our taxpayer dollars.
Vote with me to send Vice President Kamala Harris to the White House, state Sen. Emily Randall to Congress and Port Angeles Mayor Kate Dexter to the Clallam County Board of Commissioners.
All three women represent a new generation of experienced leadership for our county and country.
After 235 years, it’s about time to pass the torch, to a woman.
