LETTER: Feels ignored

Welcome to Clallam Bay-Sekiu, the land that the Clallam County Health Department forgot or doesn’t really care about.

I liken our area to a fly-over zone.

It is interesting, though, that the county can always find our local post offices to send our property tax statements.

Information from Clallam County Emergency Management states that the Port Angeles vaccination event “is for Port Angeles area residents. This includes those living west of Deer Park Road including Joyce.”

A vaccination event was hurriedly established for Forks.

The catch is that it is first-come, first-served with only 200 vaccinations per day, according to the latest information from the Clallam Bay Clinic.

Apparently, Clallam Bay and Sekiu residents are welcome although there is nothing in writing so far.

I wonder how early one needs to show up to be part of the 200 per day.

Rumors, misinformation and lack of information that abound frustrate me and my fellow 70-plus compatriots.

The lack of awareness or concern at the county-level annoys me.

And “annoy” is just the polite way of saying what I really think.
