LETTER: Darwin award

I would like to submit my nomination for this year’s Darwin Award to all the unmasked, unvaccinated people in America.

For those unfamiliar with the Darwin Award, it goes to an individual whose stupidity beyond comprehension leads to their demise.

Thus, the human gene pool is improved according to Darwin’s theory of survival of the fittest.

With the news of the new deadly COVID Delta variant rapidly spreading through the country and infectious disease experts begging people to vaccinate, more than 50 percent of Americans are in denial of science-based evidence and remain non-fully vaccinated to their own peril.

Offers of lotteries, money and other incentives have failed to persuade them.

According to current news reporting, approximately 250 deaths occur each day, mostly of unvaccinated people.

Though we Americans consider ourselves to be among the most scientifically advanced countries, it’s obvious that half of America is not on board.

Best of luck to this year’s winners.
