LETTER: County spending money it didn’t know it had

The Nov. 6 PDN article, “County considering how to disperse heritage funds” notes that the Heritage Advisory Board recently discovered preservation funds they were unaware had been collected over the past 15 years.

According to the article, the county has determined that it has already spent about $90,000 of the $220,000 collected.

It would be interesting to know how the county spent so much money that they didn’t know they had and where it went.

A question for our Clallam County CFO, Mark Lane?
