LETTER: Corporations and the mega-rich already control everything

Be careful

I’m writing regarding the letter titled “Light of Reality,” in the PDN on Feb. 24.

The government already has control of agriculture through the Department of Agriculture, transportation through the Department of Transportation and energy production through the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

I think the reality is these agencies dance to the music of the mega-corporations.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if these agencies worked to benefit the rest of us?

Gee, we don’t want that!

Gosh, the Green New Deal might prevent eliminating the root cause of climate disruption, humans.

It could allow some humans to live on Earth into the next century.

Wouldn’t want that, would we?

Let’s just continue allowing the mega-corporations and mega-rich to complete the job of exterminating most everything living on Earth’s surface.

But you’re right about restricting what I can do with my property and my individual liberties.

Why can’t I build a six-story hotel on my property in Port Angeles to provide drugs and prostitutes for willing customers?

I can’t put up a marijuana stand across from the high school.

The government will prosecute me for killing people who disagree with me.

Darn government, let’s get rid of it and have anarchy.

Perhaps we should be careful for what we wish?

Robert Vreeland,

Port Angeles
