I would like to praise Clallam County Sheriff Bill Benedict for taking prompt action to protect the privacy of pet owners in Clallam County [“Sheriff Suspends License Program,” PDN, July 30].
Adam Chamberlin requested personal information about all pet owners who got licenses in Clallam County, presumably to build his database for his planned pet-retrieval service.
Benedict rightly protected this information.
In the July 30 PDN article, Chamberlin unfairly accused Sheriff Benedict of being “unprofessional.”
In fact, Sheriff Benedict was outstandingly professional in nipping this privacy violation in the bud.
Bill Benedict also showed he is an outstanding professional politician by publicizing his action.
He can count on my vote in the next election.
