In the Jan. 20-21 letter to the editor in Peninsula Voices, “Drug prices,” the writer says that U.S. Sens. Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray were among 13 Democrats who voted against Senate Amendment 0178, which would have allowed the American people to buy their prescription drugs at a much lower price from Canada.
If they have received donations from “Big Pharma,” then this is one more reason America needed a big upset in the recent presidential election.
This is called buying the vote.
Enough with the politics when Americans of all ages are being diagnosed with serious and sometimes terminal illnesses and then have to face the reality of trying to purchase life-saving drugs at an enormous cost from pharmaceutical companies raking in huge profits.
Animals and humans are sometimes prescribed the same medication.
Has anyone noticed the huge cost difference if the same drug is for a human versus an animal?
And don’t use the excuse that we can’t control the sterility of another country’s drugs when this country is administering chemotherapy, which is a poison.
