It is amazing to me that the U.S. is taking preliminary steps to overthrow the duly elected government of Venezuela.
Have we learned nothing from our disastrous experiences of promoting, masterminding, or actually undertaking regime change and overthrow of elected governments?
In Latin and Central America, such actions have lead to horrendous numbers of deaths and disappearances in Chile, Argentina, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Haiti and Panama.
On other continents witness our disasters in Vietnam, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and various countries in Africa.
If we rightfully object to the interference of foreign countries in our affairs, then we must recognize the sovereignty of other nations and cease trying to impose our will upon them.
