LETTER: A few more suggestions to make our world a better place to live

The May 25 letter to Peninsula Voices, “Global concerns,” impressed me because it is good to see people thinking about how to make the world better.

Could I add some suggestions?

• Insulate homes and buildings to save cooling or heating energy.

• Develop electric transmission lines that retain more power and harden our grids to protect from cosmic and human harm.

• Control population so that the various nations can feed and care for their citizens.

• Reduce our wasteful lifestyles — reuse, recycle.

• Develop better water supplies with dams and better use of drip irrigation, small wells and more recycling.

• Help nations provide for their citizens’ food, shelter and medicine.

These modest improvements could help redirect our energy toward a better world.
