Magician Jeff Evans will demonstrate some of the most interesting adventure activities in the world — scuba diving, rock climbing, skydiving and magic, including escapes from ropes and chains — during three performances of X-Stream Magic at Clallam County public libraries Tuesday.
The Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., will offer his first performance at 10:30 a.m.
The performance at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., will be at 1 p.m. The final afternoon performance will be at the Forks Library, 171 S. Forks Ave., at 4 p.m.
A blend of live demonstrations and helmet-cam video will allow participants to scuba dive with sharks and climb a frozen waterfall.
Evans will do “extreme magic” that includes escapes from ropes and chains, as well as the party popper vest of death.
The performances are part of the North Olympic Library System’s annual Summer Reading Program, which has the theme of “Build a Better World.”
The summertime program encourages children to keep reading during the summer break from school.
Summer reading programs with the same theme are in progress at other North Olympic libraries: the Port Townsend Library and the Jefferson County Library. The programs offer reading challenges and a multitude of events for all ages.
Clallam County summer reading programs end Aug. 19. The Port Townsend Library program will end Aug. 11. The Jefferson County Library program will end Aug. 9.
