Show of police memorabilia to open in Sequim on Sunday

SEQUIM — The Sequim Police Department will open an exhibit of historical police memorabilia in the lobby of the Sequim Civic Center starting Sunday and running through Saturday, May 20.

The exhibit is free and open to the public at the civic center, 152. W. Cedar St.

The exhibit includes uniforms, badges and patches worn by Sequim police officers through the years and serves as a timeline of significant events in the department.

An area is set up where visitors can take their own “mug shot” and has an additional photograph opportunity with a cutout in a K-9 officer display area.

Police Sgt. Mike Hill, Officer Kindryn Leiter and Officer Rick Larsen worked with the Sequim Museum &Arts Center in putting the exhibit together.

The Sequim Civic Center is open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For more information, contact the Sequim Police Department at 360-683-7227.
