SEQUIM — The Grand Final Weekend of the 124th Sequim Irrigation Festival begins today.
Thursday’s events are the prelude to the Logging Show, Strongman Competition, Grand Parade and other activities, most of which are on Friday and Saturday but with a few on Sunday.
The Sequim Museum & Arts’ downtown Historic Walking Tour will be at 11 a.m. today, with another at 1 p.m. if organizers have an overflow from the morning tour at 175 W. Cedar St.
Later tonight, Davis Shows Northwest will open its carnival from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the softball fields at Sequim High School, 610 N. Sequim Ave.
Wristbands for unlimited rides are available at a discount of $22 through this afternoon at multiple Sequim retailers, including Sound Community Bank, Key Bank, Sequim-Dungeness Chamber of Commerce and Dungeness Kids Co. At the carnival, wristbands cost $27 each.
After opening Thursday, the carnival will be open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, with moms riding free to celebrate Mother’s Day.
