Ranger Sciacca, a violinist originally from Bainbridge Island, and his guitar-playing father Michael Sciacca formed the band in 2006 after a pilgrimage to the world’s foremost Hot Club Swing event, the Django Reinhardt festival in Samois Sur Seine, France.
From rollicking and raucous to sweet and tender, the band’s music shifts between moods and styles, evoking the smoky spirit of old-time Paris cafes and capturing the rowdy musical energy of Romani campsites.
At their performance in Coyle last March, the versatile gypsy swing band from Seattle attracted the largest audience of the entire Concerts in the Woods series.
Ranger and the Re-Arrangers have released four CDs and perform more than 100 shows each year at music festivals, concerts in the park, swing dances, weddings and other events.
