A preparedness fair, a museum anniversary and a poetry event highlight this weekend’s events on the North Olympic Peninsula.
• “The Vagina Monlogues” will be read on stage at 6 p.m. tonight through Sunday at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim.

The play, written by Eve Ensler, includes adult content that explores sexual topics from a variety of female perspectives.
• The Production Alliance will present Jefferson County Preparedness Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Finnriver Farm and Cidery, 124 Center Road, Chimacum.
The free festival is designed to build a more resilient community through education and hands-on emergency preparedness training.
Individuals, families and businesses will be able to learn practical emergency preparedness skills, meet and engage with local emergency response teams, discover resources to help plan for a variety of disaster scenarios and have fun while taking steps toward readiness.
Jefferson County Public Health will host a lower-sensory, quieter, less-crowded space for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout the morning.
The booth will provide an opportunity for in-depth conversations with service providers and to pick up a specialized emergency go-bag.
From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., there will be workshops on emergency mindset, skill-building and community networking as well as speakers and expert panels.
At 11:30 a.m., there will be a live emergency simulation.
The afternoon, from noon to 4 p.m., will have hands-on skill stations and demonstrations, community resource booths, a Kids Preparedness Zone featuring an obstacle course hosted by East Jefferson Fire Rescue and bounce units provided by Sugar Hill Farms, emergency training sessions in the Hay Barn at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., and family-friendly challenges including tug-of-war and a water brigade.

• The Makah Cultural and Research Center will celebrate its 46th anniversary from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the center’s Makah Museum, 1880 Bayview Ave., Neah Bay.
The free celebration will feature traditional art and food vendors on the museum’s outdoor grounds.
More than 20 Makah tribal members and other local vendors will sell handmade carvings, basketry, jewelry, drums, beaded items, baked goods and food.
Steve Jimmicum, a Makah elder, will share traditional stories and legends highlighting the strength and resilience of the Makah people at 1 p.m. in the museum’s indoor longhouse.

• Poetry on the Salish Sea will present “East, West and In Between” at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Pope Marine Building, 530 Water St., Port Townsend.
The readers will include poets Sophie Cabot Black, Elise Paschen and Kathryn Hunt.
“East, West and In Between” is co-sponsored by Poetry on the Salish Sea, Centrum and the Imprint Bookshop.
• Sequim Pride will host its annual Pride Celebration from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market, in the plaza in front of the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St., Sequim.
Jaiden Dokken, Clallam County’s first poet laureate, will serve as grand marshal for the celebration.
Speakers at a noon ceremony will include local elected officials, Sequim Pride volunteers, partners from the Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market and members of the Gender-Sexuality Alliance at Sequim High School.
The Pride Parade will follow the ceremony. The family-friendly event will march down Washington Street and circle back to the Farmers Market.
After the parade, the celebration will continue with Pride Market Day.

• Penny Featherbottom will host Penny’s Cabaret at 8 p.m. Saturday at Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St., Port Angeles.
Tickets are $25 per person, $35 for VIP seating, at www.outloudstoryslam.com.
The live stage show will feature hoop artist Chana Hoops, Aleksandra the Mistress of Fusion, Pearl Grey, original music by singer-songwriter Karl G, local musicians Northstar, drag performance with live vocals by Mike Drop and Gene the Magician.
Attendees are encouraged to dress boldly with sequins, feathers, velvet and color.
• “Barks and Blooms,” a free dog adoption event, will be hosted by the Rise Rescue Alliance from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Purple Haze Lavender Farm, 180 Bell Bottom Road, Sequim.
Barks and Blooms will feature live music by JFA (Just Foolin’ Around), raffles, prizes and meet-and-greets with adoptable dogs.
Food and wine will be available for purchase.

• “Melodies of Maihar,” featuring Indradeep Ghosh, is set for 6 p.m. Sunday at the Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center, 3918 San Juan Ave., Port Townsend.
Tickets are $25 per person at https://app.brightstarevents.com or $30 at the door.
Ghosh, a violinist from India, will be joined by Richard Russell and Anil Prasad for a concert of Indian classical music.
Russell, a Port Townsend-based Celtic harpist, will play the sarod, a fretless stringed instrument similar to a lute but with 17 to 25 strings.
Prasad, a Seattle-based percussionist, will play the tabla, a pair of hand drums used in Indian music.
• Osem i Devet with Joe Finn and Esther Whitmore will play and sing for the Balkan Concert and Dance Party at 7 p.m. Saturday at Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St., Port Townsend. Admission is by a $15 to $20 donation.
• Cecilia Olivera-Hillway will conduct a Wobble Bot workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Forks Branch Library, 171 S. Forks Ave., Forks.
Olivera-Hillway, a local artist and educator, will help kids combine art and technology by designing, assembling and animating their own Wobble Bots.
