PORT TOWNSEND — Lino Rivera will present “Light and Love” at 7 p.m. Thursday during a Candlelight Concerts performance.
The series, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Taylor St. in Port Townsend, also will be simulcast on KPTZ FM 91.9 and stream at www.trinityumcpt.org.
The concert is free, although a donation of $15 per person is requested for Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County.
Rivera, a Philippine-born pianist, will perform piano transcriptions of several classical pieces as well as the Washington premier of a contemporary piece by Richard Cionco.
The first piece will be Bach’s Chaconne in D minor for solo violin, which was transcribed for the piano by Johannes Brahms.
Rivera also will perform Vyacheslav Gryaznov’s transcription of the Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture for orchestra by Tchaikovsky.
The program will include “Lux Aeterna,” written in 2024 by Richard Cionco, a pianist and composer from California.
