Olympic Theatre Arts to show ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’

SEQUIM — The production of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” will open with shows at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and matinees at 2 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 29.

The comedy will be on stage in the Gathering Hall at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave. in Sequim.

Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for students at www.olympictheatrearts.org or by calling the box office at 360-683-7326 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

The public is invited to a free preview during the final dress rehearsal at 7 p.m. Thursday.

It’s the story of two bachelors who create alter egos, both named Earnest, to escape their tiresome Victorian lives.

The men struggle throughout the play to keep up with their own stories in a tale of deception, disguise and misadventure.
