Olympic Theatre Arts auditions scheduled

SEQUIM — Olympic Theatre Arts will audition actors for two upcoming productions at 6 p.m. Jan. 16.

The auditions will be at OTA’s Gathering Hall, 414 N. Sequim Ave.

Anna Anderson, the director of “Shakespearean Renaissance Faire,” is looking for eight to 10 actors to participate in staged readings of Shakespearean scenes in which the characters scheme and plot at a renaissance fair. Auditioners may bring their own favorite Shakespearean scenes to read or read from scenes provided.

The production will run March 27-29.

Carol Swarbrick-Dries, the director of “Let Me Down Easy,” will be casting three women and three men of any ethnicity.

The play was compiled by Anna Deavere Smith from interviews with people who faced real-life challenges.

The words of the interviews, verbatim, make up the lines of the script.

The monologues will be available prior to the auditions, which will consist of one-on-one readings with Swarbrick-Dries.

Rehearsals for “Let Me Down Easy” will start around May 21. The play runs June 19-28.

For more information, call Olympic Theatre Arts at 360-683-7326 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
