PORT TOWNSEND — Northwind Art is celebrating a decade of Artist Showcase programs and honoring two long-time local artists in “10 Years of Artist Showcase: Liz Reutlinger & Wanda Mawhinney,” an exhibit on display until Nov. 29.
The show is open for in-person viewing from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday in Best Gallery, 701 Water St. Visitors must wear face masks. To view a video walk through of the exhibit, see the exhibits page at NorthwindArt.ORG.“Northwind Art is going through some really exciting changes, but some things are staying the same and Artist Showcase is one of them,” said Michael D’Alessandro, exhibits director of Northwind Art.
“Artists continue to be at the heart of all we do and Liz and Wanda bridge our past, present and future.”
Mawhinney, who paints with oil and cold wax, is from Port Ludlow and Reutlinger, who paints with oil, is from Port Townsend. Both are the longest-running participants in the Showcase series.
Northwind Arts Center and Port Townsend School of the Arts merged in January to become Northwind Art.
“The newly formed organization is pleased to continue this long-standing and much-loved exhibit which features curated works of premier artists and is refreshed monthly throughout the year,” D’Alessandro said in a press release.
In addition to Mawhinney and Reutlinger, 17 other artists are included in the exhibit.
They are Brandy Agun, Jeanne Edwards, James Ferrara, Brian Goodman, Joyce Hester, Meg Kaczyk, Evan Miller, Jim Romberg, Kim Simonelli, Linda Tilley, Diane Walker, Jadyne Reichner, Barbara Lutrell, Sydni Sterling, Egor Shokoladov, Kim Kopp and Sandra Offutt.
